Three developments get the go-ahead as untypical secures planning approval
Housebuilding group, untypical, has secured planning permission on three sites that will deliver hundreds of new homes as part of its strategic expansion.
The new developments will be built in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire by Tilia Homes, part of the untypical group, with 86 properties coming to Didcot, 50 to Aylesbury and 78 to Banbury.
Work is due to start immediately at Foal’s Meadow in Didcot, where 40% of the 86 homes will be affordable. The development will offer a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, a block of affordable apartments and a play area. All homes are designed for energy efficiency, featuring air source heat pumps and electric car charging. Tilia Homes will also be providing £2.5 million in Section 106 agreements to support social and physical infrastructure in the local area.
In Aylesbury, Tilia Homes is moving forward with its Quarrendon Grange site after acquiring the land last year. Reserved Matters approval has now been secured and construction is set to begin this winter. The scheme will deliver 50 homes, including a mix of one, three and four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments, with 25% affordable housing.
Duke’s Meadow in Banbury now also has Reserved Matters approval and work can begin on the 78 homes, with 30 per cent designated affordable housing. As well as bringing social and economic benefits to the region, Tilia Homes will contribute more than £1 million to support the local community in the form of S106 contributions.
Tom Heathcote, Chief Development Officer at untypical, said: “Securing planning permission across these three sites marks a significant milestone in untypical’s strategic expansion. Through Tilia Homes, we’re not just building high-quality, energy-efficient homes, we’re investing in communities, delivering real affordability, and helping to shape thriving neighbourhoods in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.”
