Community comes together at Kings Park, Cottenham
Residents and prospective neighbours gathered at Kings Park in Cottenham for a community BBQ last weekend, as housebuilder Tilia Homes, part of the untypical group, highlighted that more than £1.58 million is being invested in local services.
Held on Jubilee Drive on 12th September, the event brought together new and established residents for food, conversation and a chance to explore the development’s green spaces and direct walking route to Les King Wood.
The event provided an ideal setting for attendees to get a feel for the neighbourhood and meet residents. New resident, Maureen said of the afternoon: “It’s been a pleasure joining everyone at Kings Park, meeting some of the people yet to move in and it’s nice to see some of my neighbours that I already chat with regularly.”

Jon Cook, Regional Managing Director for untypical’s Eastern region, said: “Today’s event was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the community and allow them to see what makes Kings Park such a wonderful place to call home.
“We are incredibly proud to support this thriving neighbourhood. We want to ensure that as it continues to flourish, it remains a warm, welcoming, and connected place for everyone.
“Our commitment to Cottenham extends well beyond the homes we build, as we look forward to supporting the wider community through essential local services and infrastructure as it grows.”
Tilia Homes is contributing more than £1.58 million towards local education, community facilities, transport, leisure provision, footpaths and healthcare in Cottenham.
Located within the village of Cottenham, the event showcased the area's rural setting alongside its connectivity, sitting just eight miles from Cambridge. A private footpath from the development leads directly into the walking trails of Les King Wood, which is used by local dog-walkers and families.
Visitors were also able to chat with the sales team about current purchasing offers, moving schemes, and the sustainable features built into every property, such as solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. Available two- to four-bedroom homes at the development are priced from £329,950.
