Residents from Cottenham and the surrounding area were welcomed to Kings Park on Saturday 15 August for an Interior Design Open Day celebrating the opening of the development’s latest show home.

Hosted by Tilia Homes, part of the untypical group, the event gave visitors the chance to explore the newly styled home, meet the interior designer behind its look and pick up practical ideas for their own interiors.

More than 70% of homes have now been sold at Kings Park, including affordable housing, with 7 new homes recently released for sale.

Susan White, founder of Phoenix Interior Design Ltd, was on hand throughout the day to share the thinking behind the show home’s design, talk through key styling choices and offer visitors advice they could use at home.

She said: “The showhome flows effortlessly from one room to the next, creating a harmonious and cohesive home. We capitalised on the generously proportioned rooms by introducing comfortable, beautifully considered furniture pieces that enhance the sense of space while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. 

“What struck me most was just how quiet and tranquil the setting feels — a wonderful place to come home to, slow down and unwind.”

Alongside refreshments and interior-design inspiration, visitors were able to find out more about life at Kings Park and its connection to the wider Cottenham community. The development is close to local outdoor spaces, including nearby walking routes and the publicly accessible trails at Les King Wood, offering residents and dog walkers opportunities to enjoy the surrounding countryside.

The event also gave prospective buyers the chance to learn more about the environmental features incorporated into every home. Each property is fitted with electric vehicle charging provision and photovoltaic solar panels, helping residents generate renewable electricity at home, reduce reliance on grid energy and support lower household energy use.
