Luke Catchpole

Site Manager

Qualifications: Carpentry & Joinery, Lowestoft College

Luke Catchpole is Site Manager at Hopkins Homes’ Church Farm development. With more than two decades of experience in construction, he brings a practical, trade-led understanding of how homes are built—and a clear focus on getting the detail right from the very beginning.

At Church Farm, Luke leads the day-to-day delivery of homes, working with site teams, trades and suppliers to maintain high standards throughout the build and create a development homeowners are proud to call home.

Career journey

Luke’s career in construction began with carpentry and joinery at Lowestoft College. After qualifying, he spent 13 years working as a self-employed Carpenter across East Anglia, developing the hands-on knowledge and attention to detail that continue to shape his approach today.

In 2014, Luke moved into site management with Taylor Wimpey, where he worked as an Assistant Site Manager for almost seven years. He progressed to Site Manager with Lovell Partnerships in 2021, before becoming Senior Site Manager in 2023.

Luke joined Hopkins Homes as Site Manager in June 2025, bringing experience from every stage of his career, from skilled trade work through to leading teams on large-scale residential developments.

Quality means getting things right from the beginning rather than relying on fixing issues later. It's about paying attention to every detail, maintaining consistency throughout the build process and ensuring every homeowner receives a home I'd be proud to hand over to my own family.

Regular inspections, clear communication with trades and maintaining high expectations are key. We carry out quality checks throughout the build process and encourage everyone on site to take ownership of their work. By identifying and resolving issues early, we can consistently deliver homes to a high standard.

Every stage is important, but I pay particular attention to the elements that are hidden once the home is complete, such as foundations, structure and first-fix installations. Getting these stages right provides the foundation for a quality home. I also focus heavily on the finishing stages because those are often what customers notice most when they receive their keys.

I'm most proud of the quality of the homes we've delivered and the reputation we've built along the way. We've worked hard to create a development that people are genuinely excited to move into and be part of.

The overall attention to detail and quality of workmanship throughout the development help Church Farm stand out. The homes have been thoughtfully designed, and we've focused on ensuring the finished product matches the high expectations of our customers.

It's a combination of quality homes, a great location and a strong sense of community. Seeing neighbours settle in, families grow and people take pride in where they live is what makes the development special.

Communication, accountability and leading by example are key. I make sure everyone understands what good looks like, celebrate successes where they're deserved and challenge issues when improvements are needed. Creating a culture where everyone takes pride in their work helps maintain high standards throughout the site.

Seeing the excitement on a homeowner's face when they receive the keys is always rewarding. A home is one of the biggest purchases people make in their lives, so being part of that journey is a privilege.

It's incredibly satisfying. We spend years planning and building these communities, so seeing families enjoying their homes and making memories there makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I was incredibly proud and honoured. Winning a Pride in the Job Award is something every Site Manager aspires to achieve, so to be recognized by NHBC was a fantastic moment. It was also very humbling because I know how much hard work from so many people goes into creating a successful development.

It validates the high standards I set for myself and the site every day. More importantly, it recognizes the commitment, attention to detail and teamwork that has been at the heart of Church Farm since I had taken over. It's an achievement I'm very proud of, both professionally and personally.

The award has given everyone a real boost and reinforced that the standards we're striving for are being recognised. It's motivated us to continue pushing for excellence and look for ways to improve even further.

Consistency, attention to detail and teamwork. We have focused on maintaining high standards every day rather than only when inspections are approaching. Everyone on site understands the importance of quality and takes pride in delivering the best possible product.

We'll continue focusing on quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Winning the award is a fantastic achievement, but our priority remains delivering exceptional homes and ensuring every customer has a positive experience from start to finish.
